An exhibition of lightboxes and sculpture created while artist in residence with Bradford Museums & Galleries during 2007-8 using the costume collection of Cliffe Castle Museum that archives the types of clothing that ordinary people have worn. Not just fine or expensive costumes, but rather nylon dresses from C7A and the hand-knitted woolly hats that you might have stuffed in the back of your wardrobe. Others refers to the people who might have once worn the items of clothing.

Rob Ryan was born in Cyprus in 1962 and studied at Trent Polytechnic and the Royal College of Art. His much sought after work is painstakingly created by hand cutting delicate papers and these intricate works are either exhibited in paper cut form or developed as limited edition screen-prints, cards, books and other items, some of which will be shown in this small display.

Poems from the Catalan is an exhibition of avant-garde poetry and art inspired by 30 years of political oppression in the Catalan region of Spain, focusing on the collaborative work of Barcelona-born poet Joan Brossa (1919-1998) and artists Antoni Tapies (b.1923), which they produced in the early 1970s as a response to General Franco's Nationalist regime in Spain. This exhibition reflects their artistic and political concerns and they remain important figures in 20th century art, each now represented by their own Foundation in Barcelona.

Ian Dickson has been photographing the music scene since 1972 and his work has appeared in countless publications including NME, Mojo, Q and Rolling Stone. He has exhibited in the UK, Europe and the USA as well as at the MTV Awards, the Brit Awards and the World Music Awards.

All the work being exhibited here is from just two incredible years, 1976 and 1977, and features images of the Sex Pistols, the Clash, the Ramones, the Jam, the Police, the Adverts, Siouxie and the Banshees, the Stranglers, Blondie, the Slits and many others.

Michael Craig-Martin was born in Dublin in 1941 and educated in the United States, where he studied at Yale University under Josef Albers. As a tutir at Goldsmith's College he had a significant influence on two generations of young British artists.

Alphabet consists of 26 screen-prints, published by the Alan Cristea Gallery in 2007 in which the letters of the alphabet are overlaid with everyday objects and set against a background of vivid monochrome colours.

A Haywood Touring exhibition from Southbank Centre, London on behalf of Arts Council England.

Cherry Kino - My Love Has An Exquisite Corpse: Elemental Film

Curated by Leeds and Bradford based Cherry Kino, this exhibition brings together works of an elemental nature which reveal the materiality of the medium of film. The exhibition will feature a filmic "exquisite corpse" collaborative creation on Super 8 and 16mm between students from Leeds College of Art as well as revealing how the five elements as understood in Chinese medicine - fire, earth, water, air and metal - affect the film material, revealing layers of intense texture, colour and form.

Canadian artist Stephanie Vegh is based in Hamilton, Ontario. She studied at Glasgow School of Art (2003-2005) and at McMaster University, Canada (1999-2003) and has exhibted widely, in Canada, the UK and in China.

Stephanie frequently uses found books as the basis of her work which she manipulates and uses as her drawing surface in order to propose alternative histories of human progress.

This exhibition of porcelain artworks is inspired by the ephemeral nature of colours and surfaces in the landscape of the Lake District where Alison grew up. Her artistic practice explores the physical and spatial relationships of colour and glaze, which are painted and printed from a plaster block onto the surface of thin sheets of porcelain paper-clay.

Alison studied at Cumbria Institute of the Arts and at the University of Wales and has exhibited widely both in the UK and in Europe.

California based graphic designer Jason Munn started The Small Stakes in 2003 and it has since become a successful independent design studio, producing nationally and internationally commissioned work in a range of print materials, including book covers, album packaging, t-shirt designs, screen printed posters and illustrations.

Jason's work has appeared in magazines such as Print, Communication Arts and Creative Review as well as being in the permanent collection at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. This small display of Jason's posters demonstrates his unique and instantly recognisable style.

Kevin Cummins studied photography in Salford, embarking on a career that began with documenting the burgeoning punk scene in Manchester. He later became Chief Photographer for the NME where his award winning photographs were a major contributing factor in the rise of the Madchester scene. This exhibition concentrates on the iconic photographs that Kevin took of Ian Curtis and Joy Division.

The Duvet Brothers have been making videos since the early 1980's, their work being a mix of recycled documentary, music and editing effects, pioneering an art form which became known as scratch video. Blue Monday is perhaps their best known work, set to the music of New Order and created during a period of social and political change, the decline of Communism and the rise of Thatcherism.

An exhibition by Adam Stone who spent one hour on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square as part of the Antony Gormley project "Oneandother". During that time he captured 10 large format pin hole images.

Vivienne Dick was born in Donegal, Ireland in 1950 and studied at University College, Dublin. From 1977 until 1982 she lived in New York and was part of a group of filmakers whose affiliation to punk became known as "No Wave". Working mainly on Super8, Dick's films from this period feature many musicians from the punk movement in New York. Beauty Becomes The Beast was made in 1979 featuring Lydia Lunch in the lead role playing both a tormented five year old and a troubled teenage.

Sean Kaye and Jenny West began working together in 2006. Their practice uses strategies of limitation, translation and exchange in the production of distinct bodies of work.

This exhibition of new and recent work includes Mirror Mirror a series of paired drawings that highlight the fallibility of communication and translation in their construction and Reflection a series of video works exploring the relationship of balance, equilibrium and rhythm found in the monumental radio telescope at Jodrell Bank. The bookwork A Random Dispersal of Dust (Mutely Understood) will also be accompanied by related research material. This work is a word reveral of the short story The Library of Babel by Jorge Luis Borges and is published by Wild Pansy Press.

In conjunction with the exhibition the film Slow Revolution will be shown at Hyde Park Picture House on Monday 26th April at 6.00pm - admission free.

Hamish Fulton was born in London in 1946 and studied at Hammersmith College of Art, St. Martin's School of Art and the Royal College of Art. Since the 1960's Hamish has been creating text and image work as well as sculpture in response to his physical contact with the surrounding landscape and since 1973, when he decalred that he would only make art resulting from the experience of individual walks, he has undertaken walks throughout the world.

Richard Downer was a student at Leeds College of Art from 1949 - 1953. After completing his National Service he began an advertising career in London and following ten years as an Art Director became a Design Consultant where his creative work included corporate identities, publications for major companies, stamp designs and many typographical disciplines as well as designing British Telecom Telephone Directories - he illustrated the directories throughout Britain for fifteen years. Richard was a fellow of the Society of Industrial Artists and Designers and President of the Society of Typographic Designers.

He currently draws and paints from his London studio in Kentish Town and the exhibition includes many examples of his recent work as well as illustrations and designs

Jeff Kleinsmith and Jesse Ledoux are two innovative American designers producing through their company, Patents Pending, hundreds of gig posters for as many bands.

Besides being a long time art director for Sub Pop Records, Seattle based Jeff Kleinsmith is a celebrated freelance designer.

Grammy Awards nominee Jesse Ledoux worked as an art director and designer, creating iconic posters and album cover artwork. He now works out of his studio in Providence, Rhode Island, working with Kleinsmith on projects and on solo commissions.

This small display shows a range of their solo and joint work.

Bresson's Decisive Moment has been reinvented and Martin Parr has recently encouraged photographers working in this field to "get modern". What he meant by this has been widely interpreted.

Modern Palaeolithic springs from Bruce Rimell's long-standing personal interest in Palaeolithic imagery and draws upon insights into the archetypal hunter-gatherer mode of life which forms the majority time-period of human evolution. Drawing from archaeological data, the findings of specialists such as Lewis-Williams and Henshilwood, and from personal visits to Palaeolithic sites such as Altamira, Ekain and Creswell Crags, this exhibition explores the experiental, mythical and cosmogonical motifs thought to have been understood by the cultures of the Upper Palaeolithic from the Atlantic coast of Western Europe to Lake Baikal in Eastern Siberia.

John Latham, 1921 - 2006, was born in Rhodesia, studeid at Chelsea Schhol of Art and taught at St. Martin's School of Art. He founded the Artists Placement Group (APG) in 1968 and his filmmaking began in 1960 with Unedited Material From Star but developed to embrace collaborative works with the Event Structure Research Group, abstract animation in the 1960's, and works made for television in the 1990's.

Britannica is concerned with information, in particular our ability to read and digest the knowledge stored in the multi-volume encyclopaedia is challenged by Latham's acceleration of time - his other major preoccupation - through film animation.

Leeds Artist Samuel Fisher studied architecture at the University of Cambridge and his primary interest lies in architecture being commoditised for investment vehicles reducing buildings to the lowest common denominator; homogenous spaces of consumption, production or transit. Partly inspired by the geometries of Islamic art, his photoconstructed works capture stages of construction that act as brief moments of redemption before the buildings relapse into a mundane state for the remainder of their lives. Other work focuses upon abandoned buildings from the mid twentieth century and low-technology represented as a form of heightened beauty.

Kelly Cumberland's work explores the change and removal, growth and deterioration of the life and nature of a virus. Installations and objects demonstrate how something seemingly delicate and insubstantial can overwhelm its environment; whilst dissested drawings, cloth and paper works represent the paradoxical fragility and strength of microbiological and electronic structures.

Currently working with the Haematological Malignancy Diagnostic Service (HMDS) at St James Hospital in Leeds, she has been investigating Programmed Cell Death, which is one of the most important biological processes. These complex scientific ideas will be communicated through an 11 metre wall drawing in the Atrium Gallery, Bexley Wing, St James's University Hospital, Leeds.

Omar Kashoura

Omar Kashoura studied at Leeds College of Art, the London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martin’s School of Art and Design.

In 2005 he was awarded the prize of Best International Menswear Designer at New York’s Gen Art Style Awards and began his working career at London based fashion house Preen where he remained for a period of 7 seasons as well as securing a consulting position at the fast developing label Unconditional for a period of 4 seasons. His own label Omar Kashoura has developed into an easily recognisable brand.

This display of photographs on the ground floor at Blenheim Walk demonstrates his unique talent.

I paint to tell a story. I paint and then I paint and then I paint some more

This installation by Jude Lin, a recent graduate from Leeds College of Art, is made up of six art pieces and aims to disrupt and deconstruct the expectations of what a painting is. The paintings in the exhibition don’t hang on the wall but stand on plinths.

You can peep inside some of these uncanny objects, though others will not allow it. Their surfaces are scuffed, punctured and scarred as if marked with visible evidence of time passed, memories held and history captured.

Accompanying each artwork is its individual title which further enriches the overall narrative of the work.

Marisol Cavia was born in Spain, and has been living and working in London since 1973. She studied languages in Bilbao and later studied drawing and sculpture at the School of Liberal Arts in Surrey and ceramics at the University of Westminster.
She has exhibited widely in both museums and private galleries in the UK, Spain, Germany, Italy and the USA. Her work involves ceramics, installation, sculpture, photography, video and performance.

My Giant Colouring Book

Jake and Dinos Chapman are two of Britain's most inventive and subversive artists. My Giant Colouring Book appears to be seething with grotesque imagery, yet on closer inspection the images are surprisingly innocuous and are rich in art-historical allusions, from medieval images of hell and damnation to Picasso, Surrealism and Abstract Expressionism.

My Giant Colouring Book is a touring exhibition developed by the Hayward Gallery and the Arts Council England.
